What is a snare trap?

A snare trap, also known as a snares or spring traps, is a type of trap used in wilderness survival and hunting.

It consists of a loop or cable made of metal, cord, or wire that is designed to catch and hold an animal by constricting its neck or leg. When an animal steps into the snare, the tension on the loop causes it to snap shut, trapping the animal.

Snare traps are often used for small game such as rabbits, squirrels, and raccoons, but can also be effective for larger animals like deer and coyotes. However, it is important to use snares ethically and humanely, following local regulations and guidelines, and taking steps to minimize suffering and ensure a quick kill.
