How to store propane tanks

Storing propane tanks is a crucial part of any prepper's plan. Those little green monsters are full of potential, and not just because of the fuel they hold. So, where should you store them?

Out of direct sunlight, away from heat sources, and in a well-ventilated area. That’s right—don’t store your propane tanks in the garage next to the BBQ grill or in a hot attic space. That's just asking for trouble!

Instead, choose a spot with good airflow, like a shaded outdoor area or an unheated garage, and make sure the tank is on a level surface. Don’t worry about rust; it’s just a minor cosmetic issue unless you're planning to enter any beauty contests. If you live in an area prone to extreme weather conditions—such as earthquakes, hurricanes, or tornadoes—consider anchoring your propane tanks to prevent them from becoming projectiles.

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for storage and handling—those guys know what they're talking about. Finally, keep in mind that most propane tanks are designed for indoor use only, unless you have an outdoor grill or cooking setup specifically designed for propane.

So, there you have it—a crash course on storing propane tanks like a pro (or at least, a prepper)!
