Ash Tales is the home of post-apocalyptic fiction by Ryan Law. It publishes original short stories about collapse, aftermath, and survival, alongside the Rainmaker Writings novels and a growing archive of genre guides.
The project is built as a single connected world: literary fiction first, with a strong bias toward grounded detail, practical realism, and atmospheric settings.
The core archive is the fiction collection, with short stories covering nuclear conflict, pandemics, climate collapse, social breakdown, and the strange routines of life after systems fail.
Outside the fiction archive, Ash Tales also includes books, reading lists, and recommendations for readers who want more post-apocalyptic, dystopian, and speculative work in the same vein.
Ryan Law is the founder, writer, and editor behind the project. He is also the author of the Rainmaker Writings novels and the former host of the Ash Tales Podcast, a short-fiction anthology that ran from 2017 to 2020.
His work on Ash Tales combines fiction, research, and a long-running interest in preparedness, disaster scenarios, and the mechanics of surviving bad systems under pressure.
Ash Tales remains active as an archive and publishing platform. New stories, books, and guides are published here; submissions are currently closed.
